Time is Running Out!



The clock is ticking and August 5th will be here before you know it! That's the last day you can log your summer reading hours. Remember - you have to have read at least 20 hours over the summer and gotten your log checked by August 5th to qualify for a special end of summer reading prize. Get reading!

International Sports

Here's a description of each sport listed in our online poll:

Arnis (Philippeans)
Filipino Martial Arts

Curling (Canada)
Players slide stones across a sheet of ice to a target area

Handball (Iceland)
Players attempt to pass or throw a ball through their opponents' goal

Hurling (Ireland)
Players use hurley sticks to pass the ball through their opponents' goal

Jianzi (Vietnam)
Players try to keep a heavily weighted feather ball in air using their feet and other body parts but not their hands

Pato (Argentina)
Game played on horseback that contains elements of polo and basketball
