Summer Reading Program 2012

For Children Grade 4 and Younger

June 21, 2012 - August 10, 2012

Reading Guidelines

Come to the Youth Services Department anytime between June 21, 2012 and August 6, 2012 to pick up your summer reading log.

• You must read at least 2 hours per week and get your log checked to receive a prize.
• You will get one treasure chest prize and one raffle ticket per weekly visit.
• The last day to get your log checked is Friday, August 10, 2012.
• If you read at least 20 hours over the summer and get your reading log checked, you will win a special prize!
  Remember, you may only get your log checked once a week!

Children of ALL ages may participate in the reading part of our program.  Even the littlest patrons, our pre-readers, since parents or other family members can read to them.

Remember - to sign up for any of the summer reading activities, you must also sign up for the reading part of the program.

Annual 4th of July Celebration
Wednesday, June 27th at 10:30 AM
Come wish the United States another Happy Birthday!
Hear stories, play games, and create a souvenir.

Annual Candy Guessing Contest

July 2nd - July 6th

Whatever kid guesses how much candy is in our glass case wins every piece!  Yummers! 

Harry Potter's Birthday Celebration!
Poor Harry, the horrible Durselys never gave him a birthday party.  So we will!  Join us for lots of Harry Potter birthday fun!

We will be making pillows, pirate treasure chests and more.

Super Special Kids
Calling all Special Needs kids and their families!  Come join us for a super time.  We'll share stories, sing songs, move and groove and do other fun things.  At the end of the session there will be time for families to visit and a snack will be provided.  If your child has food allergies or food sensitivities, we encourage you to bring his own preferred snack.  Siblings are always.  For more information contact Molly Hancock, Coordinator of Youth Services at 978-674-1527 or at mhancock@mvlc.org.

Mother Goose on the Loose Storytimes 

Mother Goose is designed for children age 3 and younger but big brothers and sisters are always welcome!

*We will offer two identical sessions each day at 10 AM or 11:15 AM.  To accommodate everyone, we ask that patrons choose one session to attend.  Thank you for understanding!

Summertime Storytimes
